Product Materials and Applications
Aluminum alloys for forging: The strength, ductility, corrosion resistance and other properties of forged aluminum alloys vary according to their chemical composition (aluminum element and other minor addition elements) content. In addition to the influence of chemical composition, the subsequent treatment method of forged aluminum alloy will also have a great influence on its mechanical properties.
The naming rules for aluminum alloy grades were proposed by the American Aluminum Association (AA) in 1954 and have been widely accepted and adopted. The grade series is 1XXX~8XXX.
Deformed aluminum alloys can be divided into: hard aluminum alloys, superhard aluminum alloys, wrought aluminum alloys, rust-proof aluminum alloys, high-purity and high-toughness aluminum alloys, and aluminum-lithium alloys according to their properties.
Among them, aluminum alloys for forging can be divided into high-strength aluminum alloys, heat-resistant aluminum alloys and corrosion-resistant aluminum alloys according to their strength and state.
1. High strength aluminum alloy
2XXX: 2024-T6, 2124-T6 and 2424-T6 etc.
It has good forgeability, good plasticity and poor corrosion resistance, and is a typical hard aluminum alloy. Mainly used for aircraft parts, railway vehicles, auto parts and machine structural parts.
7XXX: 7075-T6, 7175-T6, 7475-T6, 7075-T73, 7475-T73, 7175-T736, 7050-T73, 7150-T73, 7055-T73, 7155-T79, 7068-T77
High strength and high toughness. Mainly used for aircraft parts, aerospace materials, automotive parts and structural parts.
2. Heat-resistant aluminum alloy
2XXX: 2219-T6, 2618-T6
It maintains excellent strength and creep resistance at high temperature, and has good welding performance. Commonly used in aircraft, rocket parts and vehicle parts.
4XXX: 4032-T6
High strength at medium temperature, small thermal expansion coefficient and good wear resistance. Mainly used for pistons and wear parts, etc.
3. Corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy
1XXX: 1100-0, 1200-0
Low strength, corrosion resistance, good heat and cold workability, and poor machinability. Commonly used in electronic communication parts and electronic computer parts.
5XXX: 5083-0, 5056-0
Strong corrosion, good weldability and low temperature mechanical properties. Commonly used in LNG flanges, petrochemical machinery, ship parts and seawater desalination parts.
6XXX: 6061-T6, 6082-T6, 6070-T6, 6013-T6, 6351-T6, 6005A-T6
Medium strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, good comprehensive performance. Commonly used in aerospace, automotive, rail transit and transportation machinery.
Post Casting Process
1. Heat treatment: annealing, carbonization, tempering, quenching, normalizing, surface tempering
2. Processing equipment: CNC, WEDM, lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, etc.;
3. Surface treatment: powder spraying, chrome plating, painting, sandblasting, nickel plating, galvanizing, blackening, polishing, bluing, etc.

Moulds and Inspection Fixtures
1. Mold service life: usually semi-permanent. (except for lost foam)
2. Mold delivery time: 10-25 days, (according to product structure and product size).
3. Tooling and mold maintenance: Zhongwei is responsible for precision parts.

Quality Control
1. Quality control: the defective rate is less than 0.1%.
2. Samples and trial run will be 100% inspected during production and before shipment, sample inspection for mass production according to ISDO standards or customer requirements
3. Testing equipment: flaw detection, spectrum analyzer, golden image analyzer, three-coordinate measuring machine, hardness testing equipment, tensile testing machine;
