Comparison between Powder Metallurgy and Die Casting
The selection of powder metallurgy and die casting is usually a matter of part size or material requirements, rather than an economic issue. Common die-casting materials are aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy and zinc alloy. Copper alloy die casting has also been used in a limited way. Ferroalloy and stainless steel should be powder metallurgy due to their high melting point. What about the comparison between powder metallurgy and die casting? Qinhuangdao Zhongwei Precision Powder Sharing:

Compared with traditional powder metallurgy parts and metal injection molding parts, the size of die casting parts can be the same or larger. Powder metallurgy shall be used when material requirements are primary. For example:
powder metallurgy
1. Very high strength. The tensile strength of some iron base sintered alloys is more than three times higher than that of die cast alloys.
2. High wear resistance and antifriction performance can be solved by iron base and copper base sintered alloys impregnated with lubricating oil.
3. Higher working temperature can be solved by iron base and copper base sintered alloy.
4. Corrosion resistance, copper based sintered alloy and stainless steel sintering can meet the requirements.
Between powder metallurgy and die casting, under the condition that the service temperature is not higher than 65 ℃ and medium strength is required, zinc die casting may be a powder based metallurgical product replaced by iron. The two processes are similar in terms of dimensional accuracy and cutting requirements. But for tooling and processing costs, powder metallurgy is usually more advantageous. After seeing the comparison between powder metallurgy and die casting, do you have a better understanding of them? If there is a demand for powder metallurgy, you can call Zhongwei Precision Powder in Qinhuangdao.
