Development Status
Polypropylene, abbreviated as PP, is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, translucent solid substance. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic synthetic resin with excellent properties, which is a colorless and translucent thermoplastic lightweight general-purpose plastic. It has chemical resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulation, high-strength mechanical properties and good high wear-resistant processing properties, etc., which makes polypropylene rapidly used in machinery, automobiles, electronic appliances, construction, textiles, packaging since its inception. It has been widely developed and applied in many fields such as agriculture, forestry, fishery and food industry. In recent years, with the rapid development of my country's packaging, electronics, automobile and other industries, it has greatly promoted the development of my country's industry. And because of its plasticity, polypropylene materials are gradually replacing wooden products, and high strength, toughness and high wear resistance have gradually replaced the mechanical functions of metals. In addition, PP injection molding parts have good grafting and compounding functions, and have huge application space in concrete, textile, packaging and agriculture, forestry and fishery.
Mice were given 1 to 5 times by gavage at a dose of 8g/kg, which did not cause obvious poisoning symptoms. Rats inhaled the decomposition products of polypropylene heated to 210-220 ℃ 30 times, each time for 2 hours, and the symptoms of eye mucous membrane and upper respiratory tract irritation occurred. Similar to polyethylene, it is forbidden to use its recycled products to contain food.
• A brief history
In 1954, G. Natta first polymerized propylene into polypropylene (using aluminum-titanium chloride as a catalyst), and created the theory of directional polymerization, which attracted people's attention.
In 1957, the Italian Montecatini Company and the American Hecules Company established 6000t/a and 9000t/a polypropylene production units respectively.
From the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, polypropylene entered a period of great development.
Since the 1980s, polypropylene production has been in the forefront of synthetic resins, and now it is only lower than polyethylene, ranking second.
China began researching polypropylene production processes in 1962. Since the 1980s, polypropylene has developed rapidly in China. my country has introduced some advanced polypropylene production technology and production equipment, and has successively established a number of large and medium-sized polypropylene production facilities in Yanshan, Yangzi, Liaoyang, etc., and a large number of small bulk polypropylene production facilities have also been built in various places, and the contradiction between supply and demand has been alleviated. played a certain role. The substantial increase in production scale has prompted my country's polypropylene resin production to enter a stage of rapid development. In 2012, my country's PP production capacity reached 12.967 million tons. In 2015, my country's PP production capacity was 20.13 million tons/year.
• Current situation of supply and demand
Due to the large gap between the supply and demand of polypropylene in my country, in recent years, most new large-scale oil refining, ethylene co-production projects and coal olefin projects are equipped with polypropylene units. Therefore, China's polypropylene production capacity will increase significantly in the future. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider those small and backward polypropylene installation technologies, especially the batch small body method will be phased out, and it is estimated that the production capacity of polypropylene in my country will reach a higher level by 2025. With the rapid development of China's economy, the demand for various chemical raw materials continues to increase, resulting in the consumption of polypropylene reaching the highest level in history. Therefore, my country will become the largest consumer of polypropylene in the world. In 2003, my country's polypropylene consumption has reached 5.32 million tons; in 2007, it took the lead to reach 10 million tons; in 2008, affected by the financial crisis, it dropped slightly to 10.79 million tons; in 2018, driven by infrastructure investment and domestic demand , increased to 12.32 million tons.

Application
PP injection molding parts are suitable for acid and alkali resistance equipment, electroplating equipment, solar photovoltaic equipment, environmental protection equipment, waste water, waste gas discharge equipment, washing towers, clean rooms, semiconductor factories and other related industries. It is also the first choice for manufacturing plastic water tanks. materials, among which PP thick sheets are widely used in punching boards, punching mattress boards, etc.
1. Advertising billboards;
2. Recycling boxes, including reused recycling boxes, vegetable and fruit packaging boxes, clothes storage boxes, and stationery boxes in various industries;
3. Industrial boards, including the protection of the outer packaging of wires and cables, the protection of the outer packaging of glass, steel plates, various items, pads, racks, partitions, bottom plates, etc.;
4. Protection board, the era of protecting construction materials with cardboard and plywood is gone forever. With the progress of the times and the improvement of taste, to ensure the integrity of the decoration design before it is completed and put into use, proper protection should be given to maintain the operation. Economy, safety and convenience, as well as the protection of building elevators and floors before acceptance.
5. Electronic industry protection. Conductive packaging products are mainly used in the packaging of electronic components such as IC wafers, IC packaging, testing, TFT, and optoelectronics. In addition, there are conductive and antistatic plastic plates, turnover boxes and so on. In addition to the above products, PP board can also be used in the packaging of washing machine backplane, refrigerator insulation layer, frozen food, medicine, sugar and wine, etc. The hollow board production line can also be used to produce PE hollow board to supply insulation room partitions required for urban construction and rural areas.
