Polyetheretherketone, referred to as PEEK, is a linear semi-crystalline, low-polarity thermoplastic with excellent comprehensive properties. PEEK is a high melting point thermoplastic. When the melt temperature is below 380 °C, the viscosity is sensitive to temperature changes, and when it is greater than 380 °C, it is sensitive to shear rate changes. It can be used for injection, extrusion, molding, blow molding, lamination, electrostatic coating. All kinds of Polyetheretherketone high temperature injection molding parts are processed by methods such as coating and secondary processing.

Product process conditions

It has high melt viscosity and high processing temperature, but has good thermal stability and is not easy to decompose. Since the performance of Polyetheretherketone high temperature injection molding parts is closely related to the crystallinity and crystal structure, the process conditions that are conducive to improving the crystallinity should be used as much as possible during processing. If a higher mold temperature is used in injection molding, a product with higher crystallinity may be obtained when the mold temperature is 180°C. When the mold temperature is 150~160°C, the surface layer of the product may be transparent and low in crystallinity, so the mold temperature is low. When the product should be annealed to remove internal stress and improve crystallinity, the heat treatment process is 200 ℃ x 1h or 300 ℃ x 20min. In addition, the raw materials need to be dried before processing, and the drying process is 150 ℃ x 3h.

(3) Other molding

The mixture of PEEK and glass fiber, carbon fiber or mixed fiber is used to make high-performance composite laminates by lamination molding process. For example, the tensile strength of 70% unidirectional carbon fiber laminates can reach 1540MPa at 23 °C, and the tensile elastic modulus is 130GPa.

PEEK can use electrostatic spraying method or fluidized bed spraying method to form powder coating on metal products. The coating has heat resistance, corrosion resistance, water resistance and excellent electrical insulation.

PEEK can be processed by mechanical processing, ultrasonic welding, electroplating, sputtering and other methods for secondary processing, and can also be bonded with adhesives such as epoxy resin, polyurethane, and silicone.

PEEK can be rotationally molded or blow molded to process large containers or special containers for nuclear waste.

PEEK film can also be press-bonded with metal to make high-temperature reinforced composite materials.


Post Injection Molding Process

1. Processing equipment: CNC, WEDM, lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, etc.;

2. Surface treatment: For some products that require subsequent processing, we can provide surface treatment services to achieve the special purpose of customers.
