The method for determining the pouring surface of stainless steel precision casting

Aug 01, 2022

1. The important processing surface or main processing surface of the precision casting is downward or located at the side: during pouring, the gas in the molten metal, slag and sand particles in the mold will float up, which may cause defects such as air holes, slag inclusions and sand holes in the upper part of the casting, while the lower part of the casting may have defects, and the structure is dense.

2. The large plane of the precision casting is poured downward or obliquely: due to the intense heat radiation of the hot metal liquid on the upper part of the casting mold during pouring, the sand mold on the top surface of the bow | is expanded, arched or even cracked, resulting in defects such as sand inclusion and sand holes on the large plane.

3. The thin wall of the precision casting is downward, sideways or inclined: in order to prevent the thin wall of the casting from producing cold insulation and pouring defects, the thin wall with large area should be placed at the lower part of the casting or placed at the side wall or inclined position.

4. The thick part of the precision casting shall be placed on the top or on the side of the parting surface for the purpose of placing the riser at the thick part for feeding.
