How to remove burrs from metal injection molded parts?

It is said that metal injection molding technology in powder metallurgy technology is a very important precision molding technology in various industrial fields. It can not only produce precision parts in large quantities, but also has fewer forming procedures and direct rapid prototyping. The precision, performance and quality of the parts are very good. However, in the production process, due to equipment, raw materials, production process, operation and other reasons, some minor defects may occur. Next, how to deburr metal injection molded parts will be introduced by Zhongwei Precision Powder Metallurgy?

1. Chemical method

Put the finished part into the metal solution, and the metal on the part surface will be transferred to the solution in the form of ions. These ions will adhere to the surface of the part to form a film layer with high resistance and low conductivity to protect the workpiece from corrosion. Burrs can be removed by chemical action because they are higher than the surface.

2. Rolling grinding method

The parts and abrasive are placed together in a closed drum. During drum rotation, the dynamic torque sensor, parts, and abrasive are ground together to remove burrs. The abrasives can be quartz sand, wood chips, aluminum oxide, ceramics, metal rings, etc.

3. Electrolysis

This deburring method is realized by dissolving the anode with electrical and chemical energy. The turbine flowmeter part is connected to the anode of the DC film as the anode, and the forming tool is connected to the cathode of the DC power supply as the cathode. A gap is maintained between the two poles to allow electrolyte circulation.

4. High temperature method

First, put the parts to be deburred into the closed chamber, and then put the whole part into the hydrogen oxygen mixture at a certain pressure, ignite the mixture gas to explode, release heat, burn the burrs of the parts without damaging the parts.

Metal injection molding has become the mainstream precision molding technology in the industry. Compared with traditional processing technology, metal injection molding has obvious advantages such as good quality, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, long service life, easy molding, etc. It can produce any complex three-dimensional geometric precision parts.
