Alloy 304 An austenitic T-300 series stainless steel containing a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type 304 has a maximum carbon content of 0.07%. S30400 Metal powder injection molded parts are standard "18/8 stainless steel" commonly found in pans and cooking utensils. Alloy 304 is the most versatile and widely used alloy in the stainless steel family. Alloy 304 is ideal for a variety of domestic and commercial applications, offering excellent corrosion resistance, ease of fabrication, and excellent formability. Austenitic stainless steels are also considered the most weldable of the high alloy steels and can be welded by all fusion and resistance welding processes.

Corrosion resistance:
• Alloy 304 contains 9% to 11% nickel and is therefore resistant to moderately aggressive organic acids.
• Since Alloy 304 contains 18% to 19% chromium, it is resistant to corrosion in oxidizing environments.
• 304, 304L and 304H can be considered to perform equally in most corrosive environments.
Heat resistance:
• Continuous use of 304 in the 800-1580°F range is not recommended if subsequent water resistance is important.
• Good oxidation resistance to 1600°F for intermittent service and 1690°F for continuous service.
Application:
Alloy 304 stainless steel is used in a variety of domestic and commercial applications, including:
• Kitchen worktops, sinks, sinks, appliances and appliances
• Chemical containers, including for transport
• Food processing equipment, especially beer brewing, milk processing and brewing
• Heat exchanger
• Architectural finishing and molding
• S30400 Metal powder injection molded parts Woven or welded screens for mining, quarrying and water filtration
• Automotive and aerospace structural uses
• Nuts, bolts, screws and other fasteners in marine environments
• Building materials in large buildings
• Dyeing industry
