Characteristics of 304 stainless steel
304L Alloy 304L is a T-300 series stainless steel austenitic that contains at least 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type 304L has a carbon maximum of 0.030. It is standard "18/8 stainless steel" and is commonly used in pans and cooking tools. Alloy 304L is the most versatile and widely used alloy in the stainless steel family. Alloy 304L offers excellent corrosion resistance, ease of manufacture, and excellent formability, making it ideal for a variety of domestic and commercial applications. Austenitic stainless steels are also considered the easiest to weld among high alloy steels and can be welded by all fusion and resistance welding processes.

2. 304L General Properties
Alloy 304L is a T-300 series stainless steel austenitic containing at least 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type 304L has a carbon maximum of 0.030. It is standard "18/8 stainless steel" and is commonly used in pans and cooking tools. Alloy 304L is the most versatile and widely used alloy in the stainless steel family. Alloy 304L offers excellent corrosion resistance, ease of manufacture, and excellent formability, making it ideal for a variety of domestic and commercial applications. 3. 304L Application

4、304L corrosion resistance
(1) Corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments is the result of alloy 304 containing 18% to 19% chromium.
(2) Resistance to moderately aggressive organic acids is a result of alloy 304 containing 9% to 11% nickel.
(3) Occasionally, He-Quan 304L can show a lower corrosion rate than high-carbon He-Qu 304; otherwise, 304, 304L and 4.304 can be considered to perform uniformly in most corrosive environments.
(4) 304L alloy is preferably used in a highly corrosive environment to cause intergranular corrosion in welds and heat-affected zones susceptible to the alloy.
5. Heat resistance
Oxidation resistance reaches 1600F for intermittent use and 1690F for continuous use. .If subsequent waterborne corrosion resistance is important, continuous use of 304 in the 800-1580F range is not recommended. The 304L grade is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be heated to the above temperature range.
6. 304L welding characteristics
Excellent weldability; post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections. Two important considerations for producing welded joints in austenitic stainless steels are: maintaining corrosion resistance and avoiding cracking
7. 304L processing - thermoforming
Forging, thermal uniformity is 2100/2300F Do not forge below 1700F Forging can be air cooled without risk of cracking
8. 304L processing - cold forming
(1) Its austenitic structure allows it to be deep drawn without intermediate annealing, making it a grade of stainless steel for making sinks, hollowware and stew pots.
(2) These grades harden quickly. To relieve stress during severe forming or spinning, parts should be fully annealed or stress relieved as soon as possible after forming.
9. 304L machinability
A chip breaker is recommended as the chips can be sticky. Stainless steel rapid work hardening, re-feed, sharp tools and rigid gear should be used. The cut is below the previously passed work hardened layer.

Process After Sintering
1. Heat treatment: annealing, carbonization, tempering, quenching, normalizing, surface tempering
2. Processing equipment: CNC, WEDM, lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, etc.;
3. Surface treatment: anodizing, powder spraying, chrome plating, painting, sandblasting, nickel plating, galvanizing, blackening, polishing, bluing, etc.
Moulds and Inspection Fixtures
1. Mold service life: usually semi-permanent. (except for lost foam)
2. Mold delivery time: 10-25 days, (according to product structure and product size).
3. Tooling and mold maintenance: Zhongwei is responsible for precision parts.
Quality Control
1. Quality control: the defective rate is less than 0.1%.
2. Samples and trial run will be 100% inspected during production and before shipment, sample inspection for mass production according to ISDO standards or customer requirements.
