Significant functions of metal injection molding process
The function of metal injection molding process is inductive function, including powder activity, bulk density, compaction density, compressibility, formability and sintering scale change. For some special applications, powder with other chemical and physical functions is also required, such as catalytic function, electrochemical activity, corrosion resistance, electromagnetic function, internal friction coefficient.
The function of metal injection molding reflects the properties of the metal itself and the properties of individual particles and particles. Generally speaking, the function of metal powder is divided into chemical function, physical function and process function. Chemical properties refer to metal content and impurity content.
Metal injection molding refers to a group of metal particles with a size of less than 1mm, including single metal powder, alloy powder and some refractory compound powder with metal properties. Metal injection molding and injection molding mainly produce metal powder and adhesive that meet the requirements of injection molding, and then use appropriate methods to mix the powder and adhesive evenly into the material at a certain temperature. After granulation, the injection molding is completed.
Physical properties include uniform particle size and particle size distribution, specific surface and true density of powder, particle shape, surface morphology and internal microstructure. The basic functions can be confirmed by specific standard test methods.
