1. Vacuum oil immersion
Put the cleaned sintered products into the vacuum box, seal and evacuate them to - 72 mm Hg, then put oil into the vacuum box, heat them to 80 ℃, and keep them for 20~30 minutes. As the air in the connecting pores of the product is extracted, the engine oil can be immersed in the product within 10 minutes. This method has high oil immersion efficiency and speed.
2. Heat and soak
Put the cleaned sintered products into 80~120 ℃ hot oil for soaking for 1 hour. As the products are heated, the air in the connected pores expands. Some air is removed. After cooling, the remaining air shrinks again, sucking oil into the pores. As the hot oil has good fluidity and high lubricity, more oil can be immersed in the products. The efficiency of the oil immersion method is higher than that of the common oil immersion method.
3. Ordinary oil immersion
Put the cleaned sintered products into engine oil (generally 20~30 # engine oil) to soak, and the oil is under the capillary force of the products. Immerse into the pores of products. This method has low oil immersion efficiency and long oil immersion time. It takes several hours and is used in products with low oil content. For the oil with known refractive index used in the oil immersion method, powder metallurgy manufacturers usually choose the liquid with light color, small toxicity, low viscosity, stable chemical property, non volatile and non reactive with minerals. If liquid paraffin, brominated naphthalene, diiodomethane, etc. are used as crude oil and mixed in different proportions, the oil immersion with refractive index of about 1.04~1.80 can be obtained. Prepare several bottles with an interval of 0.003~0.005 for storage.
