1. Chemical composition

The chemical composition of Gr3 titanium alloy is mainly composed of titanium, aluminum and vanadium, with titanium content being the lowest purity option, usually 99.5%-99.9%. The contents of aluminum and vanadium are 3.0%-4.0% and 0.10%-0.30% respectively.

 

2. Physical properties

The density of Gr3 titanium alloy is 4.5g/cm³ and the relative specific gravity is 60%, making it the lightest of all metals. Its yield strength is 380MPa, its elongation is more than 20%, and it has good processability and plasticity. At the same time, Gr3 titanium alloy also has excellent corrosion resistance and can remain stable in a variety of chemical media for a long time.

4. Manufacturing process

The process of manufacturing Gr3 titanium alloy can be divided into two main stages: melting and processing and metal injection molding process.

 

First, the titanium alloy raw materials need to be heated to the melting point through tools such as a consumable electric arc furnace or a vacuum induction melting furnace protected by argon inert gas. The melt is then cast or forged into shape through a casting mold or forging equipment.

 

Next, in order to improve the strength and corrosion resistance of the material, the material needs to be heat treated, including solution annealing, cooling and aging.

Then, it is prepared using Gr3 titanium alloy powder, pressed through metal injection molding process, degreasing, sintering and other processes to obtain high-precision, complex parts.
