Brass Lost Wax Casting Crafts

So what kind of production process does the product of such a distant era have?

The lost wax method belongs to the precision casting method of bronze ware. In the late Spring and Autumn Period, the Chinese invented the lost wax casting process. The overall process of the lost wax method is divided into three steps. First, a wax mold is made of fusible paraffin, and then the wax mold is poured with fine mud for many times to harden it to form a cast shape. Then, the cast is fired and potterized. At this stage, the paraffin melts and flows out, forming a cavity in the casting. Finally, copper water is poured into the cavity to make utensils. The lost wax method is usually used to cast some complex bronze utensils. The bronze bans of Chu State unearthed in Xichuan, Henan and the Zenghou Zunpan unearthed in Suizhou, Hubei are believed to be cast by the lost wax method.
Post Casting Process
1. Heat treatment: annealing, carbonization, tempering, quenching, normalizing, surface tempering
2. Processing equipment: CNC, WEDM, lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, etc.;
3. Surface treatment: powder spraying, chrome plating, painting, sandblasting, nickel plating, galvanizing, blackening, polishing, bluing, etc.

Moulds and Inspection Fixtures
1. Mold service life: usually semi-permanent. (except for lost foam).
2. Mold delivery time: 10-25 days, (according to product structure and product size).
3. Tooling and mold maintenance: Zhongwei is responsible for precision parts.
Quality Control
1. Quality control: the defective rate is less than 0.1%.
