Basic Information

The function of the door opening limiter (Door check) is to limit the degree of door opening. On the one hand, it can limit the maximum opening of the door to prevent the door from opening too wide. Basic Classification

According to the way the limit force is provided, it can be divided into rubber spring type, metal spring type and torsion spring type.

1. Rubber spring type

The working principle is: the limiter bracket is fastened to the car body by a mounting bolt, and the limit box is fastened to the door by two mounting screws. When the door is opened, the limit box will move along the limit arm. Because the limit arm has different height structures, the elastic rubber block will have different elastic deformations, so people need to use different forces to close the door when opening the door. At each limit position point, it can play a role in limiting the door. This structure is the most widely used, and there are many specific forms: some limit arms are stamped structures, some limit boxes use rollers, some limit boxes use balls, and some limit boxes use sliders...but the principle of limiting is the same.

The advantages of this structure are simple structure, low cost, small space occupation, and maintenance-free. The disadvantage is that the requirements for sheet metal are relatively high. If the hinge strength is not enough, the door sinks and it is likely to produce abnormal noise. After running for a period of time, the limit torque decreases rapidly.

The door limiter of this structure generally has two or three gears. Its maximum torque is about 35N.m, the length is generally about 60mm, and the maximum opening angle is generally below 70 degrees. After the durability test, the torque changes by about 30%-40%.

 

2. Torsion spring type

Its working principle is: integrated with the hinge, usually installed on the lower hinge, in the process of closing the door, the torsion bar deforms to generate different forces to achieve the purpose of limiting.

This structure is mostly used in the European car market and is a patent of Edsha.

The advantages of this structure are low noise, long life, and good limiting effect. The disadvantages are large space occupation, complex structure, high maintenance cost, etc.

This structure of the limiter generally has two or three gears, its maximum door opening torque is 45N.m, the maximum door closing torque is 50N.m, the maximum door opening angle is about 60-65 degrees, and after the durability test, the torque change is about 15%.
