Production Process

Type 304 stainless steel contains approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel and is the most commonly specified stainless steel worldwide. Type S30400 is a versatile general-purpose stainless steel with good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, many chemicals, and food and beverages. These grades can be specified in the annealed condition and they have very good formability. Higher nickel versions can be specified to enhance multi-stage deep drawing characteristics. Type 304 is nonmagnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic due to cold working.

Type 304 can be dual-certified as 304L when the composition meets the low carbon limit of 304L and the slightly higher strength level of 304. Type 304L should be specified for welding applications as the low-carbon version eliminates chromium carbide precipitation and enhances resistance to corrosion in the weld state.

 

S30400

S30400 is a material developed based on 302 profile, its performance level is 302, but its corrosion resistance is better than 302 profile, and its corrosion resistance and cold stamping performance are excellent. Strong oxidation resistance, acid corrosion resistance. It is corrosion resistant to alkali and most organic acids and inorganic acids, and has good low temperature performance. Its strength, elongation and area reduction at -180 degrees are all high. S30400 powder metallurgy pressed parts are suitable for weldments with small cross-sectional dimensions, and are stainless steel with a large amount of application and a wide range of applications. Ordinary anti-oxidation steel can withstand repeated heating at 870 degrees.
