1. Physical properties
Zirconium dioxide has excellent properties such as high melting point and boiling point, high hardness, insulator at room temperature, and electrical conductivity at high temperature.
Zirconium dioxide has three crystal forms, which are oxides of polycrystalline phase transformation. The stable low-temperature phase is monoclinic (m-ZrO2), and the tetragonal phase (t-ZrO2) is gradually formed when the temperature is higher than 1000 °C, and only the tetragonal crystal phase exists until 2370 °C. Crystalline phase (c-ZrO2). ZrO2 shrinks in volume during heating and expands during cooling. Therefore, in order to prevent the volume change during use, the crystal form must be stabilized. Commonly used stabilizers are Y2O3, CaO, MgO, CeO2 and other rare earth oxides. The cation radii of these oxides are similar to those of Zr4+ (within 12% difference), and they have great solubility in ZrO2, and can form substitutional solid solutions of monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic crystal forms with ZrO2. This solid solution can be maintained at room temperature in a metastable state by avoiding eutectoid decomposition by rapid cooling. 3. Preparation method
Preparation method of zirconia powder:
(1) Co-precipitation method
The co-precipitation method has become the most commonly used method for the preparation of nano-zirconia due to its simple operation, easy control of the reaction process and low cost. The specific process of the method is: adding part of stabilizers (such as Y(NO3)3) and dispersing agents (such as PEG2000, etc.), and soluble zirconium salts (ZrOCl2?8H2O, ZrCl4 or Zr(NO3)4, etc.) are made into salts solution, gradually add precipitating agent (such as NH3?H2O, NaOH, H2NCONH2) to the salt solution, and control the pH value reasonably, zirconium hydroxide gel and yttrium hydroxide gel are precipitated by reaction precipitation, and then aged , filtration, water washing, alcohol washing, drying, calcination and other processes, so as to obtain zirconia powder.
(2) Hydrothermal method
