Automobile Water Glass Investment Casting

When using wax to make patterns, investment casting is also called "lost wax casting". Investment casting usually refers to making a pattern in a fusible material, coating the surface of the pattern with several layers of refractory material to make a mold shell, and then melting the pattern out of the mold shell to obtain a mold without parting surface.

Production Process Of Automobile Water Glass Investment Casting

Casting—— Forging—— Welding—— Cold stamping—— Metal cutting—— Heat treatment—— Assembly.

1. Casting

A casting solution that can be filled with sand. Because patterns are widely made of waxy materials, investment casting is often referred to as "lost wax casting".

The types of alloys that can be produced by investment casting include carbon steel, alloy steel, heat-resistant alloys, stainless steel, precision alloys, permanent magnet alloys, bearing alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, and ductile iron.

The shape of investment castings is generally more complex, the minimum diameter of the holes that can be cast on the castings can reach 0.5mm, and the minimum wall thickness of the castings is 0.3mm. In production, some parts that were originally composed of several parts can be designed into integral parts by changing the structure of the parts and directly cast by investment casting, so as to save processing time and consumption of metal materials, and make the part structure more accurate. to be reasonable.

The weight of investment castings is mostly zero to dozens of Newtons (from a few grams to more than ten kilograms, generally no more than 25 kilograms), and it is more troublesome to use the investment casting method to produce too heavy castings.

The investment casting process is complicated and difficult to control, and the materials used and consumed are more expensive, so it is suitable for the production of small parts with complex shapes, high precision requirements, or difficult to perform other processing, such as turbine engine blades.

2. Forging

Forging is a manufacturing method in which molten metal material is poured into a mold cavity, cooled and solidified to obtain a product. In the automotive industry, many parts are made of pig iron in pig iron, accounting for about 10% of the net weight of the vehicle, such as cylinder liners, gearbox housings, steering system housings, automotive rear axle housings, brake system drums, various The production of cast iron parts such as brackets generally uses sand molds.

In the automotive industry, the casting method of production is widely used. Forging is divided into random forging and solid model forging. Random forging is a production method in which a metal material blank is placed on an iron felt to withstand impact or burden, also known as "quenching". The blanks of vehicle worm gears and shafts are produced by random casting. Solid model forging is a production method in which metal material blanks are placed in the cavity of a forging die to withstand impact or load. Solid model forging is somewhat like the whole process of batter being rolled into cookies in a template.

3. Welding

Electric welding is a production method in which two pieces of metal materials are heated locally or simultaneously heated and stamped. Generally, the welding process in which one hand holds the mask and the other hand holds the welding pliers and welding wire connected to the cable is called manual arc welding, but manual arc welding is rarely used in the automotive industry, and is most used in body production. is welding. Welding is suitable for the welding of electric-welded cold-rolled steel sheets. In actual operation, two thick steel plates are pressurized with two electrodes to make them fit together.

4. Cold stamping

A cold die or sheet stamping die is a production method in which a sheet of metal material is cut or formed by force in a stamping die. Daily necessities, such as brine pots, lunch boxes, washbasins, etc., are made by cold stamping production methods. The auto parts produced and processed by cold stamping dies include: automobile engine oil pan, brake system bottom plate, automobile window frame and most body parts. Such parts are generally formed by blanking, punching machine, bending, reverse side, refurbishment and other processes. In order to better produce cold stamping parts, it is necessary to make stamping dies.

5. Metal cutting

Metal material turning production and processing is to use a milling cutter to drill a metal material blank step by step; so that the product can obtain the desired product appearance, specification and roughness. The turning production and processing of metal materials includes two methods: milling and machining. Milling is a production method in which employees use hand-made special tools to carry out cutting. The actual operation is sensitive and convenient, and it is widely used in installation and maintenance. Processing and manufacturing rely on CNC lathes to realize drilling, including: turning, planing, milling, drilling, grinding and other methods.

6. Heat treatment

The heat treatment process is a way of reheating, insulating or cooling solid steel to change its microstructure to meet the application or technical standards of the part. The temperature of the heating environment, the length of the holding time, and the speed of the cooling efficiency will cause different structural transformations of the steel. Blacksmiths infiltrate heated cast iron into water for rapid cooling (what experts call heat treatment), which increases the strength of aluminum parts, which is also a case of the heat treatment process. Heat treatment methods include quenching, quenching, heat treatment, quenching, and the like.

7. Assembly

Then the various components are connected to each other to form a complete vehicle according to certain regulations. Whether it is a component or a component of a complete vehicle, it is necessary to cooperate and associate with each other according to the requirements of the design drawings, so that the components or the complete vehicle can achieve the set characteristics. For example, when installing the transmission to the clutch housing, make sure that the axis of the transmission key shaft and the axis of the crankshaft are pointing. This core method is not adjusted by the installer (miller) during assembly, but only by the design scheme and production.

Post Casting Process

1. Heat treatment: annealing, carbonization, tempering, quenching, normalizing, surface tempering

2. Processing equipment: CNC, WEDM, lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, etc.;

3. Surface treatment: powder spraying, chrome plating, painting, sandblasting, nickel plating, galvanizing, blackening, polishing, bluing, etc.

Quality Control

1. Quality control: the defective rate is less than 0.1%.

2. Samples and trial run will be 100% inspected during production and before shipment, sample inspection for mass production according to ISDO standards or customer requirements

3. Testing equipment: flaw detection, spectrum analyzer, golden image analyzer, three-coordinate measuring machine, hardness testing equipment, tensile testing machine;

4. Provide after-sales service.

5. The quality can be traced back.
