Automobile Engine Bracket Water Glass Investment Casting
The so-called machining allowance refers to the surface of the casting that needs to be machined. A certain machining allowance should be set aside in advance. Its size depends on many factors such as the type of casting alloy, the molding method, the size of the casting and the position of the machined surface in the casting mold.

Selection Of Process Parameters
• Machining allowance:
The so-called machining allowance refers to the surface of the casting that needs to be machined. A certain machining allowance should be set aside in advance. Its size depends on many factors such as the type of casting alloy, the molding method, the size of the casting and the position of the machined surface in the casting mold.
• Draft angle:
In order to make it easier to remove the pattern from the mold, the slope added to the vertical wall perpendicular to the parting surface is called the draft slope.
• Cast fillets:
In order to prevent castings from stress and cracks at the connections and corners of the walls, and to prevent damage and blisters at the sharp corners of the castings, when designing castings, the connections and corners of the casting walls should be designed with rounded corners.
• Core head:
In order to ensure the positioning, fixation and venting of the core in the mold, both the pattern and the core must be designed with a core head.
• Shrinkage allowance:
Due to the cooling shrinkage of the casting after pouring, this shrinkage dimension must be added when making the pattern.
• advantage:
Clay resources are abundant and cheap. Most of the used clay green sand can be recycled and reused after proper sand treatment;
The mold manufacturing cycle is short and the work efficiency is high;
Mixed molding sand can be used for a long time;
The adaptability is very wide. Small parts, large parts, simple parts, complex parts, single parts and large batches can be used;
Investment Casting
When wax material is used to make a pattern, investment casting is also called "lost wax casting". Investment casting usually refers to making a pattern from a fusible material, covering the surface of the pattern with several layers of refractory materials to form a mold shell, and then melting the pattern and expelling the mold shell, thereby obtaining a mold without parting surfaces. After high-temperature roasting It is a casting solution that can be filled with sand. Since Automobile engine bracket water glass investment casting patterns are widely made of wax materials, investment casting is often called "lost wax casting".
The types of alloys that can be produced by investment casting include carbon steel, alloy steel, heat-resistant alloys, stainless steel, precision alloys, permanent magnet alloys, bearing alloys, copper alloys, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys and ductile iron.
Advantages of investment casting process
The dimensional accuracy is high. Generally it can reach CT4-6 (sand casting is CT10~13, die casting is CT5~7);
It can improve the utilization rate of metal materials. Investment casting can significantly reduce the processing volume of the forming surface and mating surface of the product, saving processing time and cutting tool material consumption;
It can maximize the similarity between the blank and the parts and bring great convenience to the structural design of the parts. Investment casting can cast castings with complex shapes. It can also cast castings with a wall thickness of 0.5mm and a weight as small as 1g. It can also cast combined and integral castings;
Not limited by alloy materials. The investment casting method can cast carbon steel, alloy steel, ductile iron, copper alloy and aluminum alloy castings, as well as castings of high-temperature alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys and precious metals. For alloy materials that are difficult to forge, weld and cut, they are particularly suitable for investment casting;
High production flexibility and adaptability Investment casting is suitable for both mass production, small batch production and even single-piece production.
