After 23 years, until 1982, the Nikon FM2 used a titanium honeycomb structure longitudinal shutter to achieve an ultra-high-speed 1/4000S fast shutter. To achieve a shutter speed twice as fast as the previous camera, a large radius was required to reduce the reset of the shutter curtain and improve the fast-resistance strength. Therefore, the Nikon FM2 used a titanium honeycomb on the longitudinal shutter. Later, the titanium shutter was replaced by an aluminum shutter, and the aluminum shutter speed reached 1/8000S.
As early as 1978, the Nikon P2 camera was specially made for the Arctic expedition team of Japan University. The upper and lower covers and the front and rear covers of the camera body were made of titanium stamping parts. It was carried by explorer Naoki Uemura to the cold weather of -40-50t and the effect was good.
